About
This course prepares law enforcement leaders and supervisors to manage the organizational effects of critical incidents, including officer-involved shootings, line-of-duty deaths, and mass-casualty events. It distinguishes operational stress from agency-controlled organizational stress, then provides an evidence-based response framework for the first days, weeks, and months after an event. Participants will learn how to use Psychological First Aid, protect sleep and privacy, communicate fairly, support sworn and civilian personnel, build credible peer-support systems, and use after-action learning without blame. By the end, they can help design, lead, and evaluate a trauma-informed critical-incident wellness response for their agency.
