About
Avoiding Common New-Supervisor Mistakes prepares newly promoted and aspiring law enforcement supervisors to recognize and avoid predictable leadership errors that undermine credibility, employee performance, operational effectiveness, organizational trust, and supervisory authority. Participants examine the transition from personal responsibility to accountability for others’ performance, conduct, development, and welfare. Through practical law enforcement scenarios, reflection, and decision-making activities, the course addresses former-peer relationships, authority, communication, consistency, accountability, delegation, organizational alignment, and employee development. Learners finish with a personal leadership action plan for their first 90 days and beyond.
